Steyning Area First Responders (SAFR) and the Parish Council have worked together with the Trust to provide a new public access defibrillator located near the entrance of The Ashington Centre.

It is very close to the two notice boards and stands out because it is a big, bright yellow, secure cabinet. In the case of emergency the first thing to do is dial 999 as usual. If the defib is required the ambulance service will provide you with the code to unlock the cabinet.

Ashington's own first responders will be checking the unit regularly.

Our thanks to everyone involved in the project especially Martin Leigh-Pollit (SAFR) for organising the grant from the Wilson Memorial Trust and Bill Whitaker for the unit's installation.
